Comprehensive renovation of a large apartment in the emblematic Finca de Hierro, in Sant Francesc.

The starting point for this architectural project was a large apartment located in the heart of Valencia. After painstakingly analysing the client's needs, it was finally decided to divide the original property into two independent apartments for private use. The design of the refurbishment was sober and elegant, with a high level of finish and the right choice of materials.

The decision to divide the property into two apartments was a complex one on paper, given the need to accommodate two kitchens and several bathrooms, while keeping the layout practical and functional. Despite the complication, the objective was achieved while largely respecting the original layout, resulting in financial savings that could be reinvested in certain elements of the design. Ducted air-conditioning, high-performance anthracite grey woodwork and large-format porcelain floors are some of the details that benefited from these savings. In order to preserve part of the original charm of the house, it was decided to restore and maintain part of the solid oak flooring. The intense colour of the wood provided character and warmth in contrast to the light tones of the rest of the surfaces.

In the bathrooms, it was decided to unify the criteria for the wall coverings in both properties. Due to their elegance, special mention should be made of the bathrooms tiled with black porcelain material, with white grouting and a glossy finish. The combination with the white bathroom furniture and the large-format flooring, together with the carefully chosen lighting, was exquisite. The kitchen was designed in a simple but elegant style and was connected to the living-dining room. For this purpose, the furniture was made with plain doors in a dark colour and integrated handles in a similar tone to the woodwork. The grey Dekton Pietra Kode worktop and the panelled appliances round off a dream kitchen.
