Comprehensive renovation of a classic-style apartment in the Gran Vía neighborhood, Valencia.
The reform of this apartment in L’Eixample was born from the close collaboration between Ortolá Arquitectos and Cicerone Group. The project pursues a clear purpose, to rehabilitate original architectural details of the property in perfect harmony with the new finishes.
The Noia mosaic floors largely conditioned the distribution of the floor, having to preserve its structure to maintain the original composition of the drawing. The skill and mastery of the masons allowed to recover the original floor of the entire apartment, enhancing its coloring thanks to the use of a color palette in light tones. The high ceilings with original moldings reaffirmed the classic style of the renovation, adding great elegance to the whole.
In contrast, current finishes and features were included without clouding the essence of the project. The separation of the kitchen and the living room by means of galvanized iron doors in bronze color or the installation of air conditioning through ducts, are contemporary elements that could be integrated in perfect harmony with the classic design of the reform.
The carpentry work in this exclusive renovation deserves a special mention. To the meticulous restoration work of the wooden elements, we must add the manufacture of new interior doors identical to the original ones or the installation of barn-style doors using matt black hardware and recovered carpentry. As a crown to the sublime restoration work, it was decided to restore various pieces of antique furniture following the common thread of the project.
