Complete renovation in a modern style of a duplex penthouse located in the historic centre of Valencia.

The first challenge of this work was to adapt the renovation project by a foreign interior design architect provided by the client to the rules. The main premise of the project was to take the maximum advantage of the spaces to obtain four very big bedrooms, three bathrooms and two toilets. The choice of materials and the play of curves are a clear nod of the architect to the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias in Valencia. Given the height of the building and its strategic point, it is not by chance that the day area is oriented to enjoy an amazing panoramic view of the city at any time of the day.

Our main mission as a construction company was to manage the whole renovation, by respecting the main idea of the author and giving solutions in every moment to the complexities arising over the course of the project.

The first part of the renovation consisted of demolishing all the partition walls to obtain a completely open area to start the project. Next, we will mention some of the most special tasks carried out during the renovation:

- Length and width of the staircase to access the first floor modified.

- Internal carpentries made to measure by combining different finishes. The carrying out of the curved cupboards dividing the living/dining room and the kitchen was especially complex.

- External terraces with basalt natural stone set on plots. The challenge was to get the levelling of the internal and external spaces so that the large window is flush and without level differences.

- Different floorings in different parts of the apartment, cherry-wood parquet in the living room and bedrooms and polyurethane resin in the kitchen, bathrooms and staircase. The meeting between both materials was extremely complex given the high level of exactitude demanded by the project.

- Large format sliding external carpentries. Its big size and weight made the levelling and perfect positioning very difficult.

Given the wide variety of finishes, the complexity of some meetings and the presence of a lot of elements made to measure, this project was a full challenge for the Cicerone team. The final result is a luxury renovation in a prestigious penthouse of Ciutat Vella.
